Every word hidden from the manuscript, and the decision behind it.

Words in the manuscript are permanent. One mechanism can change that after the fact, and it exists for one situation: a word, or a sequence of words, being used to harm a specific person.

Hiding a word does not delete it. The row stays, the position is never reused, and nothing renumbers. The manuscript renders [ removed ] where the word was, linked to this page. A removal is visible in the text. We do not silently rewrite the record.

The bar

Harm to a person, and only that. Not embarrassment to the project, not a bad sentence, not a word we regret allowing.

One person decides. There is no second reviewer, and claiming one would be worse than saying so plainly. What stands in its place is this page: every decision appears here the moment it is made, permanently, whether or not anyone asks — and the removal stays visible in the manuscript itself. The check on a single moderator is a record they cannot quietly revise.

Words refused at submission are a different thing entirely and are not recorded here — they never entered the manuscript. That policy is the blocklist page.

Reporting a word

Any reader who is signed in can flag a word: hover it, or move to it with the keyboard, and a small flag appears beside the author’s name. Reports go to a queue that a person reads.

We do not promise how quickly. This is a small project run by one person, and a response time we could not keep would be worth less to you than the truth. Reports are read in the order they arrive, except that a word aimed at a specific person goes first. If something needs attention faster than a queue, write to support@nevergreengames.com rather than using the flag — and if a word is about you and you have no account, that is the route, not a lesser one.

Reports do not remove anything. There is no threshold and no count that acts on its own — a flag total would simply hand the manuscript to whoever organises fastest. Most reports end with the word staying exactly where it is, which is the outcome the rules above describe rather than a failure of them.

The log

Nothing has been removed from any of the three manuscripts. We would rather it stayed that way.
