Privacy
We take the email address and display name your sign-in provider gives us. That is the whole collection.
What we hold
- Your email address and display name, from Google, Discord, or GitHub. Nothing else the provider offers is requested.
- Your words — the text, the typeface, the day, and the position in the manuscript. Your display name is shown beside your word when a reader hovers or focuses it.
- Your daily claim, which records that you wrote on a given day. It is readable by you and by nobody else.
- Refused attempts, if a word of yours matched the blocklist: what was tried and which rule fired. This exists so refusals can be appealed and audited. It is never public.
There are no profiles, no followers, no comments, and no public contribution counts. How often you have written is a private fact between you and the manuscript.
The mailing list is a separate opt-in, never bundled into signing in. If you join it, you get a note when November starts and one when the manuscript is sealed — two or three emails, then never again. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe.
There are no notifications of any kind: no push, no daily reminder, no browser notifications.
Analytics
Aggregate, cookieless, and with no per-user tracking. We measure how many people arrived and how many wrote, because the shape of the participation curve is part of the work. We do not build profiles, and we do not sell or share anything.
Deleting your account
Deleting your account removes your email address, detaches your name from your words, and purges your refusal records. It does not remove your words — the manuscript is permanent, and the terms say so before you sign in. Your words remain, unattributed.
There is no self-serve delete control yet, and until 19 August 2026 this page said there was. Ask at support@nevergreengames.com and it will be done by hand; the control ships before the piece opens on 1 November 2026. Your right to erasure does not depend on the button existing, and the contact details below are being filled in at the same lawyer review.
Retention
Refusal records are kept for the run and the appeal window that follows it, then purged. Words and their attribution are kept permanently: they are the artwork. Server logs never contain your word, your email address, or your display name.

Data controller name, postal address, and the supervisory authority for the stated jurisdiction still go here. Same lawyer review as the terms — Phase 4, with an owner and a date.
